The avian influenza virus can remain active for long periods and can live indefinitely in frozen material. As a result, it can be spread through infected carcasses and manure.
It can also be spread through contaminated shoes, clothing, crates, and other equipment in a poultry farm.
The main mechanical transmitters are insects and rodents.

-Blood –tinged nostril discharge
-Decreased egg production and hatchability
-A rise in production of soft-shelled and shell-less eggs

This disease has no effective treatment. However, while still in the mild form; you can practice the following to reduce losses from secondary infections:

It is essential to know that recovered forms will continue to spread the virus.

Prevention:
The ideal method of preventing your flock from contracting and spreading the disease is through vaccination. Once there is an outbreak, isolate the sick and affected chickens and vaccinate the rest of the flock.
